Make A Move

It’s time to take charge of your life

Power went twice yesterday, so I had the free time and peace of mind to do some reflection. I don’t get much quiet, especially lately, but I’m still grateful. My busyness has meaning to me.

In my gratitude, I realized that I’m responsible for the position I’m in. I’m sure that sounds obvious, but I hadn’t recognized it before. I am where I am because I took control of my destiny.

When I want something, I go for it.

I’m in a loving relationship because I made the first move. I have international pen pals because I took the chance to send a message. I have a group of friends, something I haven’t had for most of my life, because I decided to create that group. I took the initiative to get closer to people, and they reciprocated. I’m filled with and surrounded by love now. I chose to start my creative career, and things are building, slowly but surely.

This post is quite unlike my usual work, but I wanted to share my epiphany. You have agency. You can shape the life you want to live. It’s never going to be perfect, but perfect is the enemy of good. You can’t influence everything, but influence everything you can.

Make a move.
